Barclays Hires Raft Of Advisors Across The US

Barclays has appointed 18 investment representatives in eight offices across the US for its wealth and investment management division, signalling a major push by the UK-listed bank into the country’s wealth management market.

Barclays has appointed 18 investment representatives in eight offices across the US for its wealth and investment management division, signalling a major push by the UK-listed bank into the country’s wealth management market.

“The addition of these investment representatives to eight offices signals our continued focus on expanding our regional presence in the US,” Mitch Cox, head of wealth management, Americas for Barclays.

The appointments are as follows:

New York

Tom Dexter joins Barclays as a director from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he served high net worth individuals, corporate executives, partnerships, and foundations. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2008, Dexter spent four years at Lehman Brothers as an investment representative.

Brett Fleckman joins as a director from JP Morgan Private Bank, where he focused on customised financial solutions for high net worth individuals. Prior to that role,  Fleckman was the New York branch manager for the private client business at Thomas Weisel Partners, and previously a financial advisor at Alliance Bernstein.

Mark O'Shea joins as an assistant vice president from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where he advised high net worth individuals and families as part of the Moldaver 80 Group. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, O’Shea worked on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange managing the daily order flow for several investment banks and hedge funds.

Lastly, Edward Moldaver has joined as a managing director from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Previously, he was a senior managing director at Bear Stearns’ Private Wealth Client Services Group.

Los Angeles

Jonathan Bates joins Barclays as a director from JP Morgan, where he specialised in municipal bonds, working with high net worth individuals and middle market institutions. Prior to joining JP Morgan in 2009, Bates worked at Citigroup in the institutional fixed income group for seven years and at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray for eight years.

San Francisco

Hugh Beecher joins Barclays as a director from Credit Suisse’s private banking division, where he served high net worth individuals and families. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Beecher worked in the equities division of Goldman Sachs and also founded Beecher Investment Management.

Boston

Patrick Delahunty joins Barclays as a director from JP Morgan Private Bank where, as a senior private banker, he focused on advising high net worth individuals, families, business owners, institutions and endowments and foundations to provide customised solutions for their wealth management needs. Prior to joining JP Morgan in 2008, Delahunty worked at Alliance Bernstein.

Timothy King joins Barclays as a director from JP Morgan Private Bank,where he worked as an investment team leader, with high net worth individuals, families, public and private institutions, corporate executives, and business owners. Prior to working in private banking, King spent 10 years with JP Morgan Asset Management advising financial intermediaries and their clients.

Tim Humphrey, has joined Barclays as an assistant vice president from JP Morgan Private Bank, which he joined in 2008.

Lastly, Brian Kelly has been appointed as an assistant vice president. He joins from JP Morgan Private Bank, where he had worked since 2007 as an investment associate.

Dallas

Noble Nash joins Barclays as a director from Credit Suisse’s Private banking division where he served high net worth families and institutions since 2000. Nash was a director at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette Securities from 1998 to 2000, before it was acquired by Credit Suisse.

Mike Whorton joins Barclays as a director from Credit Suisse’s private banking division which he joined in 2000. Whorton was a vice president in the investment services group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities from 1993 – 2000, before it was acquired by Credit Suisse.

Chris Boley joins Barclays as a vice president from Credit Suisse’s private banking division, where he worked with business owners, executives and foundations. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2005, Boley worked at JP Morgan in the Treasury and Securities division.

Atlanta

Scott Macolino joins Barclays as a director from SunTrust Investment Services where, as a private wealth advisor, he served ultra high net worth individuals, corporate executives and professional investors. Prior to joining SunTrust in 2003, Macolino was a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch for ten years.

Miami

Carlos Gallo joins Barclays as a director from UBS Financial Services, where as a senior vice president within the international division, he served high net worth individuals and families in Peru, Mexico and Venezuela.

Prior to joining UBS, Gallo was a senior vice president in investments at Wachovia Securities and a financial consultant at Lehman Brothers.

Irl Solomon joins Barclays as a director from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where as an executive director, he served high net worth individuals, family offices and institutions. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Solomon spent 12 years in Credit Suisse’s Private Client Services division.

Jeannie Adams-Camblin joins Barclays as a vice president from UBS Financial Services. At UBS, Adams-Camblin was a vice president within the international division serving high net worth individuals and families. Previously, she held various roles at Wachovia Securities and Lehman Brothers.

Palm Beach

Clark Appleby joins Barclays as an assistant vice president from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. At his predecessor firm, he assisted high net worth individuals and families with their wealth management goals.
