Janney Names New Wealth Management Head

The new head of the wealth business has worked at firms including SEI, Envestnet, Fortigent and Prudential.
Janney Montgomery Scott, the US wealth, capital markets and investments house, has named senior sector figure John Yackel as its new wealth management chief.
Yackel is taking over from Kevin Reed, who has assumed leadership of Janney’s private client group after eight years leading the wealth business. The transition was first announced in 2022.
In his new position, Yackel is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of Janney's advice and solutions platform that supports the firm’s financial advisors. He will oversee a team that provides financial planning and advisory services, cash management, mutual funds, insured solutions, lending, retail trading, and retirement plan services, the business said in a statement.
Having worked at firms including SEI, Envestnet, Fortigent and Prudential, Yackel has 30 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, and technology, and has served in leadership roles at various platform and solution providers.
Prior to joining Janney, Yackel was a co-founder and CEO of Trucendent, an estate planning and trust transfer platform for advisors, their clients, attorneys, and trust administrators.
Back in 2019 Janney brought in a team of wealth management professionals, as reported here.
Janney, which is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an independent subsidiary of the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.
