Addepar
Disruption caused by the pandemic-related lockdowns has prompted
wealth management technology platform Addepar to develop an app
helping clients to check and manage investments.
The application is called Marketplace. It allows clients to view offerings and start deals digitally through a range of trusted partners such as Artivest and EquityZen.
Marketplace comes via Addepar’s subsidiary broker-dealer, Acervus Securities. The app is available to Addepar clients and features private equity and hedge funds, secondary market liquidity solutions, shares in private companies, and cash programs.
“Marketplace unifies access to financial products like alternatives and private assets, which have historically been fragmented and opaque,” Eric Poirier, chief executive, said. “This global pandemic and corresponding market volatility is our catalyst to launch this valuable offering. Our clients are demanding longer-term investments that fuel lasting solutions, and the world now has a wide range of problems that we all must confront and solve together. It’s time for market-driven forces to efficiently allocate capital and resources on a global basis as we collectively reach for a new normal -- and one that’s better than the old one,” he said.
The app has offerings for hedge funds and private equity, private credit, real estate and venture capital. These are available via Artivest and a partnership with iCapital Network is in the pipeline.
As far as liquidity solutions go, these are available from Melting Point Solutions; private company securities, such as in late-stage, pre-IPO technology companies, are available through EquityZen. Partnership forthcoming with Zanbato, and a cash deposit program, Cash Management: FICA ® For Advisors, and an impact cash solution, are available through StoneCastle Cash Management.
