Orion is helping advisors provide alternative investments by establishing a relationship with CAIS aimed at streamlining workflows.

Orion Advisor Services, the portfolio accounting service provider, has linked up with CAIS, which provides alternative funds and products to wealth managers.

The integration means Orion advisors can efficiently access CAIS’ roster of products, and facilitates the reporting of fund activity and performance.

“We are excited to add CAIS as an integration partner, giving our advisors the ability to easily access alternative investments and easily include them in client performance reports, client portals and mobile apps,” said Eric Clarke, chief executive of Orion.

Phase two of the integration, due in the coming months, will enable advisors to obtain information for specific holdings directly within their household portfolio dashboard via Orion Connect.

Earlier this month, Orion Advisor Services launched a Notifications app, allowing advisors to communicate with clients through a text alert platform. Advisors will be able to create “fully customizable text alerts,” with options including messaging, balances, meeting schedules, performance updates and required minimum distributions.
