New York-based Provident Bank has promoted its chief wealth management officer, James Nesci, to executive vice president. Nesci, who is also president of Beacon Trust Company, a Morristown, NJ-based subsidiary of Provident Bank, has over 20 years of financial industry experience and is working to enhance and expand Provident's wealth management offering. The firm launched its wealth division less than a year ago after inking an agreement in principal with LPL Financial. Nesci is a member of Beacon Trust’s board of directors and Provident Bank’s executive leadership team. He also serves on several of the bank’s management committees, including the asset and liability, officers trust, and disclosure committees. Additionally, he is a board member of Provident Investment Services. Prior to joining Provident, Nesci was chief operating officer for the national wealth management division of Wilmington Trust, where he was also a key member of the wealth management merger and acquisitions team. Earlier still, he worked within Lehman Brothers’ high net worth group and in the corporate trust departments of US Trust and HSBC. Provident Bank is the wholly-owned subsidiary of New York-listed Provident Financial Services, which reported assets of $7.3 billion as of December 31, 2012.
