Howard Capital Management, an RIA founded in 1999, has launched HCM National Philanthropic Group, which equips financial advisors with expertise, resources, and support they need to guide charitable planning strategies for clients.
The new organization includes three elements: Philanthropy planning; education and advisor support, and a white-labeled donor-advised fund. The DAF is being rolled out in partnership with TIFIN Give, a technology-first DAF platform. The fund is available only to HCM clients, the firm said in a statement yesterday.
“Every wealth management business is driven first and foremost by relationships. Engaging clients beyond their portfolios is key for strengthening those relationships and keeping those assets under management from generation to generation,” Vance Howard, CEO and portfolio manager, Howard Capital Management, said.
The new entity is being led by Amy Hogan, managing director, a philanthropic advisor with more than 20 years of experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors. Hogan has held senior fundraising and advisory positions at global, national, and local nonprofit organizations including Breakthrough T1D , Communities In Schools, and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School.
Hogan, who holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy and Certified Fund Raising Executive designations, earned her BA in political science and sociology from the University of New Orleans.
The fall is often associated with the idea of “the giving season,” typically a useful time to take stock not just of what has happened in philanthropy and the demands upon it, but also to reflect on the job of the philanthropy advisor.
