Beacon Pointe Advisors, the Newport Beach, California-based RIA, has appointed Katie Cullen  as chief growth and integration officer and Sarah Green as chief risk and compliance officer.

Katie Cullen

Cullen’s expertise spans strategic execution, executive coaching, leadership development, and organizational growth, which she will bring to Beacon Pointe’s practice management, M&A, and strategic integration teams. Prior to this, she led BlackRock Business Consulting. Previously, she held senior strategy and innovation roles within the RIA industry and at Schwab Advisor Services. She also served for 11 years as a US Army Reserve Logistics Officer.

Green has served as Vanguard’s global head of financial crimes and code of conduct, overseeing compliance programs related to know-your-customer, anti-money laundering, trade surveillance, and a range of code-of-ethics issues. Previously, she led FINRA’s AML examination unit, coordinated enforcement matters, and developed industry guidance and training. Green served in several roles at the SEC, where she managed examination programs for broker-dealers and worked on enforcement matters and training for both industry and foreign governments.

Sarah Green

The appointments come at a time when Beacon Pointe has set a hot pace of industry M&A. Beacon Pointe Advisors topped the list of wealth managers making acquisitions in the first three months of this year, with firms announcing 70 in total in the quarter, with average AuM per deal of $2.93 billion, according to FINTRX.

Our US correspondent wrote in late February that Matt Cooper has been tapped as the new CEO; Shannon Eusey, who has been chief executive and co-founder of the Newport Beach, California-based RIA, transitioned to become chair of the firm’s board of directors after leading the firm for 24 years. Cooper has been one of the industry’s biggest M&A advocates and busiest buyers.
