The University of Chicago Booth School of Business has introduced an intensive five-day Executive Education program designed to equip senior family office leaders – both active family principals, and family and non-family C-suite executives – with the strategic clarity that will transform family office business strategies and help families flourish. The course is ideal for leaders in new and existing family offices, especially those facing generational transitions, liquidity events or other strategic initiatives, complex governance challenges, or questions around purpose and strategy. The selective program – part of Chicago Booth’s Family Office Initiative – combines academic insight with hands-on, customized application. Attendees will develop sharper judgment through practical frameworks, coaching from distinguished Booth faculty and experienced practitioners, and candid peer collaboration – all within a confidential, solicitation-free environment. The Future of Your Family Office will be co-directed by John C Heaton, Myron S Scholes distinguished service professor of finance and Anthony Pritzker Family Foundation – family office initiative director; Stuart E Lucas, co-managing partner, Wealth Strategist Partners, LLC; and Stephan Roche, managing partner of BanyanGlobal Family Business Advisors. “What sets The Future of Your Family Office program apart is that it challenges participants to engage with complex questions and think expansively about what’s possible,” said Heaton. The Future of Your Family Office counts as an elective toward Chicago Booth’s Advanced Management Program and Global Advanced Finance Program. Upon successful completion of these executive education programs, participants are granted Chicago Booth alumni status. Applications are now open, with a submission deadline of September 21, 2026. “Our goal with both this program and our overall FOI is to transform the family office landscape to produce leaders who create and run world class family offices that have an impact on the families they serve, the teams that work with them, and the communities in which they live, work and invest,” said FOI executive director Robert A Stover, Jr. Launched in October 2024, Booth’s FOI advances the education, research and networking needs of current and future family office leaders around the world. Booth is one of the first major academic institutions in the country to implement a comprehensive program focused on supporting family office leaders, making the school a “pathbreaker” in this space.
