MCF Advisors, Wealth Planning Corporation
MCF Advisors, a Kentucky-based RIA, has bought Wealth Planning Corporation , a Cincinnati-based firm in charge of $617 million in AuM. This marks MCF’s expansion in the Greater Cincinnati market.

The transaction closed in February, increasing MCF’s AuM to $4.7 billion; it partnered with Wealth Partners Capital Group and the Aspire Holdings platform of HGGC in March last year.

The financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal continues a trend of busy M&A activity in the North American wealth management space. In 2025, deal volume rose by 27.3 per cent year-over-year, the fastest growth rate in the past decade outside 2021, ECHELON Partners, a firm monitoring the area, said in its report. The 466 announced transactions in 2025 represent a 17.8 per cent compound annual growth rate since 2020.

The WPC team has nine experienced personnel including its president, Todd Steinbrink, who is joining as regional director and partner, and its vice president of operations and relationship management, Angela Dietrich, who is now director of client service and partner.
