Buchalter has appointed Emily Karr and Susan Bock as corporate partners in its Portland, Oregon, office.

Karr advises clients in Oregon and Washington about estate planning and estates and trusts' administration. She focuses on family-owned business succession planning, including trusts or other arrangements that can facilitate the transfer of a family business to the next generation. 

Karr also caters to clients with specific requirements, such as executives, entrepreneurs, authors, performers, athletes, and artists. She also specializes in international estate and tax planning for individuals, families, and trusts. Karr advises US and foreign citizens with business or personal interests offshore, and foreign citizens with permanent US or foreign residency who have unique community property and asset protection needs or estates that span multiple countries.

Bock’s practice includes advising clients in Oregon and Idaho on income, estate, and gift taxes, counseling trustees and beneficiaries, charitable planning, international estate planning and trust administration. She also works with families and closely held businesses to achieve business succession planning and the creation of small family businesses.

Buchalter has more than 600 attorneys with offices in California, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

Jump, which provides AI solutions for financial advisors, has appointed Diana Cabrices as “chief evangelist,” making the case for the firm’s advisor education, growth strategy content and data-backed coaching initiatives.

Cabrices will serve as a growth partner to advisory firms nationwide, delivering data-driven playbooks, live coaching, educational content and industry keynotes aimed at improving in-meeting performance and accelerating organic growth. 

With more than a decade of experience working in the financial advisor sector, Cabrices previously worked for 15 years in sales and marketing. Her experience spans prospecting, marketing, branding, customer relationship management, estate planning, recruiting, M&A, succession planning and advisor communities. 

Her appointment follows Jump’s recently announced $80 million Series B round led by Insight Partners, bringing total funding to $105 million.
