HSBC Private Bank appointed a new CEO – Ida Liu, formerly global head of Citi Private Bank. She succeeded Gabriel Castello, who served as ad interim CEO after Annabel Spring departed at the end of December 2024. Castello took on the role of vice-chair of HSBC Private Bank. CBIZ, the US professional services advisor, appointed three senior figures: Bruce Ditman, David Fisher and Marina Margarucci. Ditman is national leader, industries, Fisher is vice president, AI, and Margarucci is national leader for private client services. Texas Capital appointed Marcia Nelson as executive director to cover family offices within its investment banking, sales and trading arm. Nelson, who is based in Manhattan, was previously managing director at Freedom Capital Markets for three years. Lazard Asset Management appointed Alex Kozhemiakin as managing director and co-head of emerging market debt, based in New York. Prior to this, Kozhemiakin was head of emerging market debt at Macquarie Asset Management. Raymond James made a number of appointments of individuals and teams: Jamie Waldren, an advisor, joined its independent advisor channel. Previously, Waldren managed $133 million in client assets as an independent RIA prior to affiliating with RJFS. He operates as JN Private Wealth Management, based in Columbia, Maryland. Financial advisor Lisa Moe joined the independent advisor channel of Raymond James, based in Fargo, North Dakota. She operates as Moe Wealth Management. Cresset added a $1.4 billion team to its Houston office that used to work with Bernstein Private Wealth Management. The team members are led by Michael Ellington, Zach Gardner, and Danique van der Velden. Northern Trust appointed Eric Freedman as its new chief investment officer for the wealth management business, succeeding Katie Nixon, who has served in the role since 2012. Nixon is now leader of the Northeast region. Freedman reports to wealth management president Jason Tyler. Nixon continues to report to Tyler.
Liu has more than 25 years’ experience in wealth management, strategic advisory and business transformation. She began her career in investment banking, advising Fortune 500 companies on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets strategies, with more than half of her investment banking career spent in Asia.
Fiduciary Trust Company appointed Karen D’Antuono, JD, as vice president and trust counsel. D’Antuono is a member of Fiduciary’s trust and estates legal department. Previously, she was a partner in the trusts and estates practice at Rubin & Rudman, where she worked for 13 years.
Aprio Wealth Management added a number of senior figures: Noah Marell, chief operating officer; Jandy Rowe, director, client services operations and integrations; Erin O’Connor-Bell, director, financial planning and client experience; Dan Wilson, director, corporate development; and Chris Guinther, senior wealth advisor.
Fiduciary Trust International appointed James Corrigan Jr as a wealth director based in its Washington, DC office. He reports to David Edmiston, regional managing director for the Greater Atlanta and Washington, DC markets. Corrigan previously worked at First National Bank of Pennsylvania. The firm appointed Andres Rodriguez as a wealth director based in its office in Coral Gables, Florida. Rodriguez was previously a private banker and executive director at Banco Santander Private Bank in Miami. He also worked for nearly 20 years at Citi Private Bank Latam in Miami, most recently as a private banker and director leading regional client acquisition efforts.
Vanguard said Kathryn Condon joined as global chief marketing officer, succeeding Vanguard veteran Colin Kelton who retired after 36 years with the firm in senior leadership roles including the last eight years as CMO.
Matthews, which concentrates on Asia and emerging markets, appointed Tiffany Hsiao as portfolio manager of the following funds: Matthews China Small Companies Fund; Matthews China Discovery Active ETF; Matthews Asia Innovators Fund; and the Matthews Asia Innovators Active ETF. Hsiao is based in the firm’s HQ in San Francisco.
Cetera welcomed Guided Financial Strategies, led by advisors Rick Dickinson and firm founder Alan Hughes who oversee about $250 million in assets under administration.
Guided Financial Strategies was affiliated with LPL for more than 20 years. Dickinson returned to the firm in 2017 after six years in corporate business development and recruiting roles with LPL.
Osaic appointed Shannon Reid as president and head of advisor growth and engagement. Reid reports to CEO Jamie Price, who previously held the position in tandem with his chief executive responsibilities. Separately, Osaic said Veater Financial Group, led by president and financial professional George Veater, joined Osaic’s empowered independence channel.
Schwab Advisor Services appointed Julian Lopez in the expanded role of enterprise solutions leader.
Procyon, an RIA with almost $9 billion of assets, appointed Bevin Nealon as vice president and private wealth advisor, based in Shelton, Connecticut. She joined from Wells Fargo, where she served as first VP, and managed more than $100 million for clients.
SimCorp, a fintech firm appointed a former S&P senior figure Iyan Adewuya in the newly-created role of chief product officer. The business named Peter Sanderson as CEO in August. Adewuya, who has more than two decades of experience in product strategy and innovation, is based in New York, reporting to chief product and technology officer Marc Schröter.
Cetera welcomed financial advisor Waheed Siddiqui and his firm, Prestige Global Private Wealth, to Avantax, a community of tax-focused financial professionals within the Cetera network. Prior to this, Siddiqui was at Citigroup Global Markets, where he served as vice president, wealth management and senior wealth advisor.
UBS Global Wealth Management appointed Justin Frame, managing director and market executive for the “Pacific Desert Market”; he also is responsible for the UBS Tucson, Arizona, office. Before joining UBS in 2020, Frame spent 25 years with Morgan Stanley.
Osaic, a wealth management group, said that Sanders Wealth Management, an independent wealth management firm based in South Carolina, had joined its network after transitioning from Cetera.
