Raymond James has agreed to buy Clark Capital Management Group, an asset manager with more than $46 billion in assets under management as well as non-discretionary assets.
The acquired firm, based in Philadelphia, was founded in 1986 by Harry Clark.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, is expected to be wrapped up by the third quarter of this year. Clark Capital will keep its own brand and become an independent boutique investment manager within Raymond James Investment Management.
The closing is subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Raymond James Investment Management's said its “global multi-boutique structure” includes Chartwell Investment Partners, ClariVest Asset Management, Cougar Global Investments, Eagle Asset Management, Reams Asset Management, and Scout Investments.
Raymond James & Associates acted as financial advisor and Eversheds Sutherland acted as legal advisor to Raymond James in connection with the transaction. Evercore acted as exclusive financial advisor and Paul Weiss acted as legal advisor to Clark Capital.
