brokersXpress expands advisor-recruitment efforts

Independent broker-dealer brings in recruiters from Morgan Stanley and LPL. brokersXpress, the institutional arm of online broker-dealer optionsXpress, has hired former Morgan Stanley advisor Lisa Julin as a director for broker recruiting.

Strategic marketing

"Lisa Julin is first and foremost a passionate advocate for her clients, whether they are high-net-worth individuals or independent reps and advisors who have turned to her for guidance in going independent," says Barry Metzger, CEO of brokersXpress. "Lisa is a great addition to our recruiting team."

Julin -- a specialist in strategic marketing, investment consulting services, asset allocation and alternative investments for high net worth individuals -- will be in charge of introducing the brokersXpress platform to registered representatives and other advisors.

brokersXpress named another director of recruiting shortly before it hired Julin. Joel Triemstra joined the firm from LPL, where he was responsible for recruiting in Illinois.

Chicago-based brokersXpress didn't respond to a query regarding the number of advisors it supports. -FWR
