Wilmington Trust Nabs BNY Mellon's Thomas Rogerson

Wilmington Trust has appointed Thomas Rogerson, former director of Family Wealth Services at BNY Mellon, as a senior managing director and family wealth strategist.

Rogerson was at BNY Mellon for around 10 years, having joined the firm from the tax and estate planning industry. He has held roles such as national director of estate tax planning at State Street Global Advisors, director of financial and estate tax planning at Coopers and Lybrand, and national director of estate planning at Kidder, Peabody & Co.

In his recent career he has specialized in the family dynamics and conflict space, and has been involved in designing programs around these issues.

In his new role he will be based in Boston, reporting directly to Kemp Stickney, Wilmington Trust’s chief fiduciary officer and head of family wealth. He will be involved at a leadership level with preparing business owners for succession and legacy issues.

"I view an important part of wealth management to be about preparing the money for the family, but also about preparing the family for the money. I look forward to further integrating this approach into what Wilmington Trust already does very well," said Rogerson.

Wilmington Trust’s family wealth offering consists of financial and risk management, tax and accounting, investment oversight, consolidated reporting and charitable giving management.
