Wilmington Trust Appoints Head Of Family Wealth

Change has been announced at the top of Wilmington Trust's family wealth business.

Wilmington Trust has promoted William LaFond to head of its family wealth division, based in Wilmington, DE.

The firm confirmed that Kemp Stickney previously served as both head of family wealth and chief fiduciary officer. It added that the moves are part of a strategic initiative centered on realigning certain roles to more strongly emphasize individual lines of business at the company.

LaFond joined Wilmington Trust in 2004 and was previously regional president of wealth advisory for the greater Washington DC and central Virginia regions. Earlier, he served as head of business development at its family wealth division. An announcement regarding who will take on his most recent responsibilities is due in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, in August, Doris Meister joined Wilmington Trust as an executive vice president to head up its wealth management unit - a newly-created role, the firm confirmed.

Wilmington Trust has offices throughout the US, and internationally in London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Luxembourg and Frankfurt.
