Wilmington Staffs New DC Office With Wells Fargo Private Bank Team

Wilmington Trust has added four wealth advisors from Wells Fargo Private Bank to its new Washington DC office, which it recently launched with William LaFond at the helm.
The four new hires are: Al Behar, vice president and senior private client fiduciary advisor; Bruce Hoffmeister, vice president and senior financial planner; Eric Schoener, vice president and senior private client advisor; and Jast Sohi, vice president and senior private banker.
Behar, Sohi and Schoener joined Wells Fargo together in early 2010, with Sohi and Schoener joining from US Trust Co.
“Under Bill’s leadership we will continue our commitment to growing and investing in our wealth advisory business in this market,” said Mark Graham, executive vice president and head of Wilmington Trust’s wealth advisory business.
Wilmington Trust confirmed last month that it was set to open a new advisory office in the Washington DC market.
In an interview with The Washington Post at the time, LaFond said affluent customers are becoming increasingly concerned about tax reform and the stability of the global financial markets. “There has been a search for yield over the last couple of years and dividend income on the investment side [has] been quite popular,” he said.
Above all, LaFond told the publication that clients are seeking ways to maintain wealth “for generations.”
The new office will reportedly serve high net worth individuals with at least $3 million in assets.
