Wilmington Creates New Endowment, Foundations Role

Wilmington
Trust
has recruited F Mackey Hughes as managing director of endowments and
foundations for its Wealth Advisory Services business, a new post. Hughes, who
is based in Baltimore, will lead business strategy and market development with
endowments, foundations, and other nonprofits.

He
joins Wilmington from Camden Partners, a Baltimore-based private equity firm in
which Wilmington Trust owns a minority stake, where he was a business
development partner.

While
historically Wilmington Trust has served endowments and foundations, Hughes' hire
is the latest step in a strategy to provide these institutions with access to
additional investment and fiduciary resources, the firm said.

Before
his five-year tenure at Camden, Hughes held senior positions over a 19-year
period with Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, including head of sales management and
business development, managing director of sales in the Baltimore and Los
Angeles offices, and managing director of the real estate group.
