Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – UBS, Buchalter, CIBC

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in wealth management for North America.

UBS
Zurich-headquartered Swiss private bank UBS has made a series of appointments this week. Jeremy Autry has joined the firm as a market director in the Manhattan market. He will be based in UBS’s 1285 Avenue of the Americas location, reporting to Manhattan market executive Kellie Brady, the firm said in a statement.

In his new role, Autry will partner with financial advisors and teams across the market to drive growth, strengthen collaboration and enhance the client experience by using UBS’s global wealth management platform.

Autry, who brings 25 years of financial services experience, has worked in partnership with financial advisors and planners, as well as serving the complex needs of individuals and families. Prior to joining UBS, he was associate market manager for the 5th Avenue market at Morgan Stanley, where he served in roles spanning sales, financial planning, and wholesale distribution.

UBS also announced that Harlan S Levinson and Louis F Vargas have joined the firm as financial advisors. The Levinson Vargas Group, which is joining the UBS Manhattan market, led by Brady, is based in the firm’s 299 Park Avenue location. They report to market director Demie Kommatas.

Levinson advises a diverse client base that includes advertising and entertainment professionals, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and families. He focuses on customized wealth accumulation and preservation strategies designed to support clients’ long-term goals. His experience spans areas including retirement planning, trusts and estates, generational wealth transfer and asset organization, as well as planning considerations for LGBT individuals and domestic partners.

Vargas brings more than 15 years of experience advising high net worth individuals, families and business owners. He has expertise in investment strategies, financial and corporate retirement planning, options strategies and risk management.

Buchalter
Law firm Buchalter is adding a tax and estate planning team to its Portland, Oregon office.

The group, which is joining from Stoel Rives LLP, will significantly enhance the firm’s private client, tax, and estate planning platform in the region.

In March 2026, Buchalter said Emily Karr and Susan Bock had joined the firm as corporate partners in Portland. With the arrival of the remainder of their team, Buchalter will add to its ability to counsel individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses, the firm said.

The Portland team is led by Bock and Karr, both members of Buchalter’s corporate practice group and the tax, benefits and estate planning practice. They are joined by senior counsel Kersten Broms, attorney, Oleg Perry, and paralegals, Lori Kovacevic, Hanh Truong, and Sarah Pugh.
