Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Raymond James, Argent, Others

The latest moves in the North American wealth management market.

Raymond James
Raymond James has brought over advisors Daniel Nickow and Brett Salzer, to Raymond James & Associates – the firm’s employee advisor broker/dealer – in Deerfield, Illinois.

Nickow and Salzer join from Mesirow Financial, where they managed about $319 million in client assets, and operate as Talman Nickow Salzer Group of Raymond James. The team is in part named after one of the original founders, Richard Talman, who retired from the industry in 2009. Joining Nickow and Salzer at Raymond James is Jennifer Lothian, senior registered client service associate.

Nickow has more than 20 years of financial services experience, beginning his career as a financial advisor at Smith Barney, which was later acquired by Morgan Stanley. He remained with the firm before joining Mesirow Financial, where he served as an advisor until joining Raymond James.

Salzer, senior vice president of wealth management, has been in the financial services industry for 13 years. He began his advisory career at Smith Barney (later Morgan Stanley) and was with Mesirow Financial alongside Nickow for six years before joining Raymond James. For the last 20 years, Salzer has served as an adjunct professor for Roosevelt University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in finance.

Argent Trust Company
Argent Trust Company has appointed Vicki Heroy as trust officer in the Shreveport office. She will report to Louisiana market president Gary Moore and will be responsible for managing family and institutional relationships.

Heroy joins Argent from Prosperity Bank in Austin, where she had served as a senior vice president and trust officer since 2014. At Prosperity, she was responsible for managing a portfolio of trust, agency and retirement accounts, in addition to guiding the strategic direction of the central Texas market. Before that, Heroy served as vice president and trust officer in the Oklahoma City market, where she grew her experience in fiduciary account management, with a focus on personal trust and wealth management.

Heroy received her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2005 and graduated magna cum laude from Mid-America Christian University with an MBA in 2014. She also earned her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from Cannon Financial Institute.

Evercore
Evercore Wealth Management has promoted three of its employees to the status of partner: Stephanie Hackett, Helena Jonassen and Kate Mulvany. There are now a total of 28 partners at the US firm.

Hackett joined Evercore in 2014 as a portfolio manager. In addition to working with clients, she is responsible for research and due diligence of alternative investments, including private equity, credit and real estate. She previously worked for eight years as an investment director at Brandywine Group Advisors, a multi-family office, and for seven years at JP Morgan, focusing on alternative asset management and private banking.

Jonassen also joined Evercore in 2014. As a wealth and fiduciary advisor, she advises executives, business owners and other clients on wealth planning and fiduciary and family office issues. She previously worked at US Trust for 18 years as a senior relationship advisor to families.

Mulvany joined Evercore in 2009 as a wealth and fiduciary advisor, working with multi-generational families on wealth planning, fiduciary and philanthropic matters. She previously worked at US Trust for 16 years where she served as a senior relationship advisor on many complex personal and fiduciary relationships.
