Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Northpointe Bank, Adam Street, Others

The latest senior wealth management executive moves in North America.

Adam Street Parnters
Adams Street Partners, a private markets investment management firm with more than $41 billion of assets under management, has appointed Robin Murray and Dave Brett to join the firm's executive committee. Murray will succeed Terry Gould as head of growth equity investments. Gould will remain an active member of Adams Street's growth equity team before transitioning into retirement from full-time work during 2021.

Murray joined the firm as a partner on the growth equity investment team in 2008, and is based in Adams Street's Menlo Park office where he focuses on the technology sector.  Murray is a member of the Growth Equity Investment Committee, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee.

Brett, based in Chicago, joined Adams Street in 2005 as head of co-investments and chairs the co-investment committee. While Adams Street has been making co-investments since 1989, Adams Street's first dedicated co-investment commingled fund was launched in 2006 under Dave's leadership.

Northpointe
Michigan-based Northpointe Bank has appointed Brian Kuelbs as its chief financial officer and chief investment officer. Kuelbs will lead the bank's corporate financial strategy and seek out effective investment opportunities.

Prior to this role, Kuelbs' served as chief financial officer and CIO for public and privately held depository institutions, private-equity-backed ventures and specialty real estate finance companies.  His most recent position was with Impac Mortgage Holdings, as chief financial officer, and prior to that, he held senior positions with The Banc of California, Home Point Financial Corporation, Aurora Bank FSB, Countrywide Financial Corporation, and GMAC Financial Services.

Kuelbs is a guest speaker at industry conferences on the topics of banking, mortgage finance and regulation. He holds a master in business administration with a specialization in finance from the University of Notre Dame, and a bachelor of business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with majors in mathematics, quantitative analysis, and finance.

Alex Brown
Alex Brown, a division of Raymond James, has brought in advisors Enrique Triana and Ricardo Kassin to the division’s Miami, Florida, branch.

Triana joins from UBS, where he managed $110 million in client assets. He has been in the financial services industry for over 36 years and serves a diverse range of clients that includes business owners, entrepreneurs, landowners, independent professionals, corporate executives and corporations. Earlier in his career, he held positions such as senior vice president at Banco Santander International, senior private banker at BankBoston, and assistant vice president at Citibank. Triana is a graduate of the Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.

Kassin joined Alex Brown’s Miami office at the end of 2019, transitioning from UBS, where he managed $397 million in client assets. He has been in the financial services industry for over 32 years. He specializes in serving ultra-high net worth clients. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master of business administration with a concentration in finance from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
