Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - KPMG, SEC

The latest moves in wealth management across North America.

KPMG
KPMG, a global network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, has appointed James Liddy as chairman of KPMG's global financial services practice, the firm said in a statement.

Liddy has more than 35 years serving KPMG's global clients and has held various leadership positions within the firm. Most recently, he was Americas leader for global financial services and also served as a member of the global financial services leadership team.

Liddy succeeds Jeremy Anderson, who has led the practice since 2010 and is retiring. In addition to the global role, Liddy will also serve as the US financial services line of business leader.

Securities and Exchange Commission
The Securities and Exchange Commission, Wall Street's main watchdog, has named Peter Driscoll director of its compliance inspections and examinations office.

The office Driscoll will lead is responsible for directing the SEC's National Examination Program, whose staff carry out examinations of registered investment advisors and companies, broker-dealers, self-regulatory organizations and transfer agents, among others.

Driscoll had served as acting director of the SEC's compliance inspections and examinations office since January 2017.

“Pete has been an exceptional leader of the National Examination Program since taking over as acting director of OCIE, including advancing the use of technology to make the program more effective,” said chairman Jay Clayton.  “With over 15 years of experience at the SEC as an attorney, examiner, and manager, I am confident that Pete and OCIE’s dedicated staff will continue to advance the interests of investors across the country.”
