UK-headquartered Guardian
Wealth Management, with offices in places including Hong Kong
and Geneva, has appointed James Ferguson as regional manager of
Abu Dhabi. Ferguson joined GWM in 2015.
Ferguson’s career started at Coutts & Co private bank in London before moving to the Bank of England. After seven years in banking, in 2008 Ferguson moved into private client work, working as an appointed representative of Legal & General and in 2012 became an independent financial advisor with Enness Private Clients.
The firm also has offices in Dubai.
North Capital Management
Scottish independent private investment office North Capital
Management has appointed George Renouf as head of investment.
Renouf will be based in the firm’s headquarters in Edinburgh.
In his previous role, Renouf was as a member of the management team and head of investment strategy at Alliance Trust, where he was responsible for investment strategy, investment risk, strategic and tactical asset allocation, as well as regulatory oversight of investment products.
North Capital Management is an advisor to a small number of wealthy individuals and families across the UK and overseas. The firm looks to serve ultra-high net worth individuals with around £10-£150 million ($207 million) in assets.
LGIM
Legal & General Investment Management has appointed
Kathleen Gallagher as non-executive director, subject to FCA
approval.
Gallagher was appointed to Legal & General Investment Management America’s board in May 2017 and will remain in this role alongside her role as non-executive director on LGIMH’s board. Previously, Kathleen was chief investment officer at Ford Motor Company, where she had responsibility for investing $66 billion in global retirement assets.
This appointment boosts female representation on LGIMH’s board to 38 per cent. Legal & General has a broader goal to achieve a 50/50 gender balance across its workforce by 2020.
Amundi
European asset management firm Amundi has appointed Stephanie
Carbonneil as head of third party distribution for UK, Ireland
and Greece.
Carbonneil is based in London and will report to Christian Pellis, global head of distribution, and Laurent Guillet, chief executive of Amundi’s London branch.
She joins from Schroders, where she spent three years managing the London office’s sales and marketing strategy for investment trusts.
Waverton Investment Management
Waverton
Investment Management has announced that global equities fund
manager George Palmer has left the firm to help build a
business outside of the investment management industry.
Palmer joined Waverton in 2014 from Grant Thornton, where he spent five years advising asset managers on taxation, acquisitions and structuring.
Katrina Norris, who has been co-manager of the Waverton Global Equity fund since January 2017, will continue to manage the fund, following the departure of George Palmer.
Saranac Partners
UK wealth management firm Saranac Partners
has announced that David Giampaolo has stepped down as both
managing partner and executive director of the firm.
Giampaolo will now serve as a senior advisor to Saranac Partners.
Saranac will look for Giampaolo’s successor and will announce the hire in due course.
