Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Evercore, Others

The latest moves in North America's wealth management sector.

Evercore
Evercore Wealth Management has appointed Steven Chung as a managing director and portfolio manager. Prior to this, Chung worked at State Street Global Advisors.

At SSGA Chung was the lead portfolio manager for all tax-exempt municipal bond strategies and co-portfolio manager for all taxable municipal bond strategies. Before joining that firms in 2015, he worked as a municipal research analyst at the Hartford Investment Management Company and as a public finance investment banker. He has 15 years of experience in the municipal bond market.

Chung is based in New York and reports to Brian Pollak, a partner and portfolio manager at Evercore Wealth Management.

Sotheby's
Sotheby’s, the global auction house, has appointed Charles F Stewart as chief executive, with immediate effect. He joins from Altice USA, where he had served as co-president and chief financial officer from 2016.

Stewart is succeeding Tad Smith, who had served as CEO of Sotheby’s since 2015. Smith will become a shareholder of the company and be a senior advisor to Stewart, the firm said in a statement.

In his former role, Stewart helped establish Altice USA as a significant technology, telecommunications and entertainment provider, working towards its $2.0 billion initial public offering in 2017. Stewart joined Altice USA after two decades of banking and finance experience spanning the US, Latin America and Europe. During his seven years based in London, he served as CEO of Itau BBA International plc, the international holding company for Itau-Unibanco, the Latin American bank. Before that, he was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.
