The latest moves in the wealth management industry in North America.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management
BNY Mellon Wealth Management has appointed Pamela Murray as managing director of business development in Boston, the firm said in a statement. 

Murray will report to Vicary Graham, president of the New England operation, and she will be responsible for driving business development efforts for the company’s Boston office.

She has more than 28 years' experience in financial services. Most recently, she was a senior client advisor and a managing director at Rockefeller & Co. based in its Boston office, and was responsible for business development and client management related to families and non-profits. 

Oppenheimer & Co.
Oppenheimer & Co, wealth manager and investment bank, has appointed two newest branch managers. Kevin Friedman joins as the branch manager for the Los Angeles office, and Christopher DiPenta joins as branch manager for the Florham Park and Summit, New Jersey offices, the firm said in a statement.

In their new roles, Friedman and DiPenta are responsible for recruiting talent, helping manage day-to-day operations, and providing guidance for financial advisors. 

Friedman began his career at Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining Oppenheimer, Friedman spent 18 years with Wells Fargo Advisors.

DiPenta, who has more than two decades of experience in the industry, was previously a senior vice president at Stifel.

RBC
RBC Correspondent Services, a clearing firm for independent broker-dealers, and RBC Advisor Services, which is a custodian for registered investment advisors, have appointed Dave Hutchinson as a business development manager.

Previously, Hutchinson has held senior roles in sales and relationship management at Charles Schwab Advisor Services and Fidelity Investments.  He has also led distribution efforts for portfolio management, technology and platform services that target the investment community.

In the last eighteen months, RBC Correspondent Services and RBC Advisor Services hired Michael Belkin, a 32 year industry veteran from First Clearing, as a Business Development Manager and brought back Craig Gordon as chief of strategic development in business development.

tru Independence
tru Independence, a wealth management firm, has appointed Craig Butler as managing partner, based in Atlanta, GA.

Butler has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, tru Independence said in a statement. Most recently, he served as co-founder of TruClarity, a platform that guides advisors to independence. Prior to that, he held an 18-year tenure at Fidelity and was both vice president and regional vice president of business development.

Founded in 2014, tru Independence supports advisors in the areas of business formation, legal/compliance, technology, institutional investment platform, custodians and broker dealers.

Citi Private Bank

Citi Private Bank has appointed Rob Laughlin as regional market manager for the Metro New York team, the firm said in a statement.

Laughlin will be relocating from Los Angeles, where he served as regional market manager, to New York and he will report to Ida Liu, global market manager Metro New York. 

Prior to his role as regional market manager in the West, Laughlin served as head of Citi Trust North America, where he was responsible for overseeing business strategy and development, wealth planning, trust and estate administration, and client relationship management for global clients on the North American trust platform. Before joining Citi Private Bank, Laughlin spent seven years with Neuberger Berman Trust Company where he most recently was chairman and president.

The firm also announced that James Rudolph has re-joined the firm as managing director and ultra-high net worth private banker on the Metro New York Team. Rudolph will  report to Liu as well, and he will be responsible for creating and implementing bespoke trust and investment strategies for the firm’s New York based clients. 

Wilde Wealth Management

Wilde Wealth Management has appointed financial planner Dustin Brown as affiliated advisor based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the firm said in a statement.

He will be doing business under the name DM Brown Financial Services. Brown has over 12 years' experience in the industry.
