The latest senior wealth management executive moves in North America.
Alex Brown, part of Raymond James, yesterday announced that Mark J Pomerantz, has joined its Los Angeles office. The office is run by regional executive Gary Cohen.
Pomerantz, managing director and client advisor, has worked in the financial services industry for nearly 40 years at Morgan Stanley, where he managed more than $658 million in client assets. His experience includes account management for individuals, pension plans, trusts, profit sharing plans and businesses. Pomerantz received his PhD in biology, with an emphasis on mathematical modeling, from the University of California San Diego.
His move represents the 19th new client advisor arrival that Alex Brown has welcomed within the last year. The division has recruited advisors with a collective $3.7 billion within the past 12 months. Advisors have joined from various firms, including UBS, Merrill Lynch, Fidelity, Wells Fargo, Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank, Stifel Nicolaus and Morgan Stanley.
In addition to Pomerantz, joining Alex Brown in the past 12 months were client advisors:
-- Norman Townsend in Baltimore, Maryland;
-- Ron DesBois and Don Keith in Boston, Massachusetts;
-- Michael Ferconio, Mark Birringer and John Joyce in Chicago, Illinois;
-- Varyk Kutnick in Greenwich, Connecticut;
-- Ricardo Kassin, Enrique Triana, Idalia Daguin, Gabriela Aguilar Gonzalez, Marina Tudela and Reynaldo Figueredo in Miami, Florida;
-- Rafael Santandreu and Kyle Wenski in New York, New York; and
-- Steve Kanteliotis, Steve Gitter and Frank Brodsky in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Wealth Partners has appointed three senior wealth advisors:
Theresa V Donatelli, Romaine A Macomb and J Addison McAraw.
Also joining are senior client service managers and former colleagues Ellie Kasimir, Liz Drega and Amy Lawler.
With the three new advisors, PWP will manage $1.7 billion in client assets, served by a team of 19 people, it said in a statement.
Donatelli, Macomb and McAraw will remain in their office in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, creating PWP’s third location. Client accounts will be custodied with Fidelity Investments.
Donatelli has more than 28 years of experience as a financial services professional, working with families, corporations and their employees, endowments and non-profits.
Macomb has more than 30 years of experience within the wealth management profession, serving individuals, families, institutions and retirement plans.
J Addison McAraw is a 25-year veteran of the investment industry.
