The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the Americas.

Warburg Pincus, the private equity house that invests in sectors including wealth management, has appointed former Evercore senior figure Andrew Sibbald as a managing director and co-head of Europe. 

Sibbald will work with current co-head of Europe, RenĂ© Obermann, based in Berlin. Sibbald will succeed Adarsh Sarma, who will remain a managing director and partner, focusing on his existing portfolio. 

Based in London, Sibbald has been chairman and managing director of Evercore's European investment banking business. He was previously co-founder and senior partner of Lexicon Partners which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. He has more than 35 years of financial services experience. Sibbald has advised on notable M&A and corporate finance transactions including recently: Arcmont on its sale to Nuveen; Global Risk Partners on its sale to Brown & Brown; and AA on its sale to Warburg Pincus and TowerBrook Capital. Prior to founding Lexicon Partners in 2000, Sibbald was a managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he led a team specializing in M&A in the financial institutions sector. He was previously a partner in The Phoenix Partnership.

Warburg Pincus’s investments includes Evelyn Partners, the UK wealth management and professional services group. The organization, which is headquartered in the US, made its first European deal in 1983 and has invested more than $15 billion in more than 130 firms.
