The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in North American wealth management.

Reckoner Capital Management
Reckoner Capital Management, an asset management firm specializing in credit, has appointed Jon Lin as managing director of business development, where he will focus on the institutional marketplace.

Lin will be responsible for leading institutional fundraising across the firm’s strategies, including registered funds and separately managed accounts, in this newly-created role. He brings 18 years of experience in alternative credit, private credit, structured credit, and real estate strategies.

Before this post, Lin served as vice president of institutional client advisory at Prospect Capital. Previously, he worked at SSI Investment Management, American Realty Advisors, CIM Group, and Golub Capital.

Reckoner Capital Management, which is employee-owned, is partnered with RedBird Capital Partners, a $12 billion private equity firm.

Cetera
Cetera has welcomed financial advisors Scott Thaxton and Greg Pennini after a longtime affiliation with LPL.

The established ensemble practice carries out its business as CarrThaxton Financial Group, serving more than 1,200 client accounts and $350 million in assets.

As of September 30, Cetera firms managed about $625 billion in assets under administration and $284 billion in assets under management.
