Raymond James has welcomed financial advisor James Williams to its independent advisor channel.

Williams is a founding partner at Coastal Oak Wealth Advisors in Jacksonville, Florida. The practice offers clients a breadth of financial services with a focus on managing generational wealth, investment strategy, risk management and legacy planning. Previously, he managed over $235 million in client assets at UBS Private Wealth Management.

In another hire, Raymond James has welcomed financial advisors Eric G Werner and Vincent "Randy" Whatley, CFP®, AIF®, CRPSTM to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm's employee advisor channel – in Hanover, New Hampshire, reporting to Kelly Anderson, Northeast regional director for RJA.

The advisors, who previously managed approximately $350 million in client assets at Morgan Stanley, are joined by senior registered client associate Alyssa Kerins. Together, operating as Northeast Legacy Group of Raymond James, they will expand RJA's footprint in New England through the establishment of a new Hanover office.

The new office offers wealth management and investment advice to families, businesses, institutions, and municipalities. Werner and Whatley's focus also includes family office services, nonprofit endowment management and strategic consulting for nonprofit organizations.

Werner, who has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, has expertise in serving affluent families and nonprofit organizations. He worked at Merrill Lynch and Citigroup Smith Barney for over a decade before joining Morgan Stanley in 2008. Werner is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a bachelor of arts in history.

Whatley, first vice president, wealth management, has more than two decades of comprehensive financial planning and investment services experience, including an 18-year tenure at Morgan Stanley. A US Army veteran, his commitment to a fiduciary standard of care is reflected in his designations as a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, Accredited Investment Fiduciary and Certified Retirement Plans Specialist™. He attended Purdue University and earned a master of science in business administration at Georgia Southwestern State University.
