A former LPL Financial team of advisors, managing $385 million in client money, has moved to the independent advisor arm of Raymond James.

The team comprises advisors J Steven Bush, Shane Swift, James Schmertmann, Brett Johnson and Eric VanWinkle. It operates as SBS Financial in Moline, Illinois and is joined by client services manager Sarah Johanson, client services assistant Clarissa Conduff, and client services associate Cameron Drury.

In a separate announcement, Kirk Bell has been named president of the independent contractor division (ICD) of Raymond James Financial Services, effective April 1. Bell is joining Raymond James’ senior leadership team and the private client group’s executive leadership team.

“Over his nearly 26 years with the firm, Kirk has embodied Raymond James’ culture and values and consistently led from a people-first approach,” PCG president Tash Elwyn said.
