The latest senior moves in the North American wealth management sector.

Neuberger Berman
Neuberger Berman, the investment house, has appointed Eric Karlson as portfolio manager and managing director. He works in the private placement debt team focusing on asset-backed securities and structured transactions.

In this new role, Karlson will increase and complement access to the private ABS market for the firm’s insurance company and other clients. Karlson joins from AIG, where he served as MD and led private ABS and structured transactions. 

He also brings executive management experience, serving as president and MD of Textron Financial Corporation’s capital markets group. Karlson holds a BBA in international finance from The George Washington University, and an MBA from The Leonard N Stern School of Business at New York University.

“Private placement debt is an essential part of a broad fixed income offering and it has been a priority to expand our capabilities. The dedicated Neuberger Berman team, which began in 2021, is off to an exceptional start and has been well received by insurance and non-insurance clients alike,” Jason Pratt, senior portfolio manager and head of insurance fixed income, said. 

The investment firm manages $418 billion in total AuM which includes $186 billion in public and private fixed income. 

Angeles Wealth Management
Angeles Wealth Management has appointed Morris Clothier as managing director, capital markets and wealth advisory. 

Clothier operates from the firm’s office in New York.

“Angeles builds global portfolios consisting of both public and private assets, and Morris’ long experience in the alternatives world provides great additional insight to our private client team and the families we serve,” Jonathan Foster, president and CEO of Angeles Wealth, said.

Before joining Angeles, Clothier was an advisor at Lexington Partners, the manager of secondary private equity and co-investment funds. Prior to that he was head of Nasdaq Trading at Lazard, partner at Narragansett Asset Management, head Nasdaq trader at SAC Capital, and co-head of Nasdaq Technology Trading at Kidder Peabody.

Angeles was founded in 2011.
