Advisors, an affiliate of NFP, an Aon company, and a wealth
management firm, appointed Colleen Tinch as senior vice president
and head of marketing. Based in Chicago, Tinch brings more than
20 years of strategic marketing and relationship management
experience in financial services.
Before joining Lenox, Tinch worked at Mesirow, where she served as managing director of strategic marketing and sales enablement for the firm’s global investment management business. Earlier in her career, she held senior marketing positions at Northern Trust Asset Management and Invesco US.
Financial Planning Association
The Financial Planning Association® (FPA), a membership
organization and trade association for Certified Financial
Planner® professionals, yesterday announced that its board of
directors had elected D Crystal Alford-Cooper, CFP®, as the 2026
FPA president-elect for a one-year term.
Alford-Cooper’s term will begin on January 1, 2026, succeeding incoming 2026 FPA president Daniel Galli, CFP®, the association said in a statement.
Alford-Cooper is director of financial planning at Law & Associates Wealth Management and Planning in Glen Echo, Maryland. In addition to her work at Law & Associates, she has served as an adjunct professor at Howard Community College. She has been a committee member of the CFP board’s Council on Education and a past president of the Association of African American Financial Advisors.
Alford-Cooper is completing a four-year term on the FPA board of directors this year. before becoming FPA’s 2026 president-elect, she served as chair of FPA of Maryland.
Juan G Hernandez-Ariano, CFP®, who is completing his first year on the FPA board of directors, was selected to serve as the 2026 FPA treasurer. Prior to joining the board, he was chairman, president, and education director of FPA of Houston. Hernandez-Ariano is founder and principal of WealthCreate in Houston.
The FPA also elected three new members to its board:
Maria Castillo Dominguez, CFP® – founder of Valoria Wealth Management in Miami, Florida. She has been a member of the FPA of Orange County and the FPA of Miami.
Gregory Furer, CFP®, CRPC®, CPFA – CEO of Beratung Advisors in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He teaches multiple sections for the CFP board program at Duquesne University and has served as president-elect and president of the FPA of Pittsburgh, completing two-year terms in each role.
Otto L Rivera, CFP®, EA – An Orlando-based financial planner and investment advisor at White Lighthouse Investment Management, Rivera hosts FPA’s International/Cross-Border Knowledge Circle as well as the Neurodivergent Planners Knowledge Circle.
Separately, Carl M Christie, CFP®, CFS®, who is completing a three-year term on the board this year, was elected to a fourth year of board service. After spending 30 years as a financial advisor, Christie is now an adjunct faculty instructor for Florida Atlantic University’s CFP® Education Program and volunteers as a pro bono financial planner through FPA.
The 2026 board will comprise 15 members, including the newly-elected members and Dennis J Moore, CFP®, FPA’s new chief executive officer.

has welcomed financial advisors Daniel Timberlake and Alexis
“Lexi” Howard to its employee advisor channel. The advisors were
previously with Wells Fargo where they managed more than
$175 million in client assets.
As Waypoint Financial Partners of Raymond James, based in Boise, Idaho, the advisors provide financial planning and guidance to business owners, women investors and those in or nearing retirement. They are joined by registered client relationship associate Casey Miner.
Timberlake brings over 13 years of financial services industry experience to his role as vice president of wealth management. He began his career at Wells Fargo in 2012; his experience is backed by a PhD and an MBA from the University of Missouri alongside the Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Exit Planning Advisor® designations.
Howard holds a bachelor’s degree in family, community and human development with an emphasis in financial planning from the University of Utah in addition to the Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® and Certified Exit Planning Advisor® designations. She has seven years of financial services industry experience.
Raymond James said that its independent advisor channel welcomed financial advisors Gabor Nagy and Robert Kemper. They joined from Commonwealth Financial Network, where they managed more than $135 million in client assets. The team is based in Mendham, New Jersey, operating as Mendham Wealth Partners.
