Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – LPL Financial, Lear Investment Management, Warburg Pincus, Others

The latest senior wealth management moves, appointments and personnel changes in North America.

LPL Financial
Yesterday, LPL Financial announced that financial advisors Bill Wagner, Scott Sennett and Andrew Kocukov of Horizon Wealth Management Group have joined its broker-dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) platforms.

The team, which reported serving about $385 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, has joined LPL from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. The team is based in Wichita, Kansas.

Lear Investment Management
Former Bloomberg chairman and CEO Peter Grauer has been appointed chairman of the newly-formed advisory board at Lear Investment Management, an RIA with almost $2 billion in assets under management. .

The RIA, founded in 2014, said it had appointed Grauer to help drive growth while preserving its independent investment culture.

“Peter has spent his career helping build and guide exceptional organizations,” said Rick Lear, Lear’s founder and chief investment  officer. “Having his counsel is both an honor and a powerful endorsement of what our team can accomplish in the years to come.”

Grauer served as Bloomberg chairman for almost 20 years as well as holding the CEO position. He has served as a director of global companies including Blackstone, Glencore and DaVita. Before joining Bloomberg, Grauer was a managing director and senior partner at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he founded and built DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and DLJ Investment Partners. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development.

Lear recently appointed Yves C Siegel, as a senior research advisor for energy and infrastructure.

Warburg Pincus
Warburg Pincus, the $105 billion AuM investment house that is often a player in wealth management, has appointed former Neuberger Berman senior figure Philip Nolan as managing director and head of US wealth.

Nolan will help to deepen existing investor relationships and establish new partnerships across the US wealth market, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

At Neuberger Berman, where he worked for the last 15 years, Nolan was most recently as MD and head of national accounts. He started his career at AllianceBernstein.

Warburg Pincus said its wealth solutions platform capitalizes on its investment capabilities across regions, vintages, and focus sectors, including financial services, healthcare, industrials, and technology.

"Phil brings the ideal background to this role. Having spent his career building and leading teams that partner with the largest wealth platforms, he has a strong understanding of what advisors and their clients are seeking,” Eddie Huang, MD, global head of fundraising and investor relations, Warburg Pincus, said.

Choreo
Choreo, a Chicago-based wealth planning firm, announced that Kelly O’Donnell has been named chief people and transformation officer. This is a newly-formed position in the firm. O’Donnell reports to Jason Van de Loo, the CEO.

O’Donnell has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, consulting and organizational leadership. She spent 21 years at Financial Engines and Edelman Financial Engines, most recently serving as the president of workplace.
