Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Key Private Bank, Alex. Brown

The latest senior moves in the North American wealth management sector.

Key Private Bank
Key Family Wealth, the multi-family office division of Key Private Bank, has appointed Carey Spencer (pictured) as national director of family governance and development services.

Spencer, who is based in Key Private Bank’s Pepper Pike office in Ohio, reports to Gary Poth, head of Key Family Wealth, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

In the new role, Carey will serve as a senior advisor and thought leader on strategies for preparing family members to responsibly manage generational wealth. She is responsible for the development and delivery of Key Family Wealth’s range of capabilities – including legacy planning and foundation services – to Key Private Bank’s ultra-high net worth families.

Carey has been with Key Private Bank for more than 30 years. In her previous role, she was a senior relationship manager for Key Private Bank. She earned her BBA from Cleveland State University and MFP from Meyers University. She is a Registered Financial Planner (RFP), Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS) and a Heritage Design Professional™ (HDP). Carey also serves on the board of directors for the Cleveland Institute of Art.

Alex. Brown
Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James, has welcomed financial advisor Alejandro Bachmann in Miami, Florida. His appointment is continuing the firm's South Florida growth, Brett Kellam, regional director for the Atlantic Region of Alex. Brown, said in a statement.

Bachmann is joining from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he previously served as a financial advisor for more than 11 years, and team lead, managing $3.8 billion in client positions for high net worth clients in Central America, the Caribbean and the US, the firm added. He will join Alex. Brown’s Brickell Avenue branch, headed by Eric Termini, regional executive for South Florida.

“I joined Alex Brown because of the firm’s sophisticated solutions for clients, including private, institutional and family offices with cross-border ties. The bespoke boutique solutions and client-first culture, reinforced by a strong local management team, differentiated Alex. Brown from the pack,” Bachmann said.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Bachmann’s background spans various disciplines which he honed while offering guidance to single-family offices in the US and abroad, including wealth management, corporate banking and more.

“We continue to enjoy strong recruiting success among highly-regarded client advisors, like Alejandro, thanks to our client-oriented culture and robust technology offerings at Raymond James,” said Kellam. “Attracting top talent in key markets has been a catalyst for meaningful growth at Alex. Brown and for the success of our advisor teams.”

Alex. Brown offers financial planning and wealth management services to individuals, high net worth families and institutions. It has total client assets of about $1.19 trillion.
