The latest moves in the North American wealth management sector.

KKR
KKR, the investment firm with $504 billion in AuM as at the end of 2022, said its KREST fund has named Julia Butler as chief investment officer. (“KREST” stands for KKR Real Estate Select Trust.)

Butler, who joined KKR in 2017, is a managing director on the real estate team. Prior to joining KKR, she was an executive vice president at iStar, a publicly-traded real estate investment trust, where she was responsible for sourcing, managing and executing on new investment opportunities in the US and Europe. Earlier in her career, she worked in the Treasury Department of The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles. Butler graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a BA in Government.

Among other activities, Butler sits on the board of directors of Women in Need (WIN), NYC’s largest homeless organization for women and children, and is involved with several real estate organizations, such as the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where she serves as a council leader, the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC), WX and others.
