Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Janus Henderson, Hopkins & Carley, Raymond James
The latest wealth management moves and appointments in North America.
Janus Henderson Group
Asset manager Janus Henderson has
hired Shoby Kelliher as the new global head of enterprise data
management.
She will lead the firm-wide data strategy and governance, data operations, and data platform management, helping to shape how data is used throughout the organization, the firm said.
Kelliher will be based in Denver, Colorado and report to global chief operating officer James Lowry.
She comes from Neuberger Berman where she served as senior vice president of client data management. In that role, she managed a global team responsible for client data. Prior to that, she was vice president at Goldman Sachs Investment Management Division, US Mutual Funds Services, the firm added.
In her new role, Kelliher and her team will provide stewardship across the data domains that the firm has classified, facilitate consistent documentation of the data, and ensure that day-to-day data management runs seamlessly. Her focus will include streamlining master data sources so that it is consistently fed downstream into other applications, and eliminating legacy data platforms to simplify, standardize and modernize data infrastructure.
Welcoming the move, Lowry said: “The road ahead is about maturing our data, processes, and systems, and she will be key to those efforts. Her expertise in global data management will help us ensure our data organization is able to support our firm’s continued growth and innovation.”
Based in London, asset manager Janus Henderson has around $361 billion in assets under management.
Hopkins & Carley
Silicon Valley law firm Hopkins &
Carley has hired Alma Soongi Beck, a certified specialist in
estate planning, trust and probate law and counsel, in its Palo
Alto office.
As a member of the firm’s family wealth and tax planning group, Beck will focus on trusts, charitable planning, gift and estate tax planning, and post-death administration, including trust administration and probate, the firm said in a statement.
Beck also offers consultations on the legal and tax implications of domestic partnerships, marriage and property co-ownership, including for same sex and unmarried couples. Before joining Hopkins & Carley, Beck was a partner with Lakin Spears, the firm added.
Welcoming her to the firm, Jim Hager, chair of the firm’s family wealth and tax planning group, said: “She has a strong background in estate planning, having worked with a wide range of families and individuals to ensure that they have effective plans in place for transitioning their assets.”
“She has significant experience advising on cutting-edge estate planning topics and understands the value of maintaining long-term trust-based client relationships,” he said.
The firm, which meets the needs of high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and public companies, also said in a statement that it will relocate its Palo Alto office to Redwood City, California in August.
