Honigman LLP
Honigman LLP
has hired Evgeny “Gene” Magidenko as a partner in the private
client practice group of its corporate department. He is
joining from ArentFox Schiff, where he spent nearly a decade
as a tax attorney.
At Honigman, Magidenko will be advising family offices and estate planning clients on corporate, partnership, estate and trust tax matters. He will also lead private client work for clients that need complex tax counsel on estate and trust planning, as well as advising on the tax aspects of complex real estate transactions and related business matters.
Magidenko holds an LLM from New York University School of Law. He earned his JD and BA from the University of Michigan.
His hire adds tax capacity to a practice that serves family offices directly. Law firms continue to compete for private client tax specialists as family offices take on more complex structures that combine estate planning, operating businesses and real estate holdings.
Founded in Detroit in 1948, Honigman is the largest law firm in metro Detroit by number of lawyers. It has more than 330 attorneys across eight offices, six of them in Michigan, along with offices in Chicago and Washington, DC. The private client practice group is led by Grace K Trueman. The corporate department is chaired by Kimberly A Dudek, who also sits on the firm’s executive committee.
