Duff & Phelps
Duff & Phelps Investment Management, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners, has appointed Evan Lang as a portfolio manager for its water strategy. Lang's job title is managing director and senior research analyst.

Lang reports to David Grumhaus, president and chief investment officer; the two will share co-portfolio management duties of the Virtus Duff & Phelps Water Fund. 

Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Lang was a portfolio manager at TortoiseEcofin, where he co-managed a sustainable global water strategy. He also built a water universe which evolved into an index that launched a global water ESG ETF. He  holds a BBA in finance and entrepreneurial management from Texas Christian University's Neeley School of Business and John V Roach Honors College. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.

Venerable
Venerable, a US firm that owns and manages a legacy variable annuity business acquired from other entities, has appointed Ron Tanner as vice president and deputy general counsel. Tanner reports to chief legal officer Tim Brown.

Tanner will support registered insurance product securities matters, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and the corporate secretary function. Additionally, he will advise the firm's corporate functions and compliance staff and assist with post-acquisition business integrations and strategic initiatives.

Before this role, Tanner served as executive director and assistant general counsel for FS Investments where he led securities regulation, financial reporting, and corporate governance efforts in addition to orchestrating fund mergers, product development efforts, and preparing securities documentation and corporate governance. 

Tanner is admitted to the bar in the states of New York and Pennsylvania. 

Venerable is a privately held company with business operations based in West Chester, Pennsylvania and Des Moines, Iowa. It was created by an investor group led by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Crestview Partners, Reverence Capital Partners, and Athene Holdings.
