Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Argent, Raymond James

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in the North American wealth management sector.

Argent Financial Group
Louisiana-based Argent Financial Group has appointed Dan Bryan as senior vice president and director of trust services in its Atlanta office.

Bryan will oversee the administration of complex, multigenerational trusts and advise clients on estate planning strategies, including managing family wealth, retirement planning, minimizing income and estate taxes, and educating future generations on family wealth and stewardship.

With more than 35 years of financial services experience – primarily in trust and wealth management – Bryan has served in leadership and client advisory roles in bank wealth management departments and family office service models.

Prior to this, Bryan worked at Regions Bank, where he served as fiduciary business leader and senior vice president in its private wealth management division. Before that, he spent 17 years at SunTrust Bank as fiduciary executive and senior vice president, as well as fiduciary services manager and senior vice president.

Bryan, who will report to chief investment officer John McCollum, will assist clients with trusts, probate, estate planning, and wealth management.

He earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing, cum laude, from Georgia Southern University. He is a graduate of the Southern Trust School and holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation.

Raymond James
Raymond James, which is expanding its private market financing capabilities, said yesterday that it has added two leaders to develop this business area. Part of the remit is to broaden private investments for ultra-high net worth investors.

Anand Subramanian is joining as head of private capital markets. Ken Novak is transitioning to the newly-created role of head of private markets strategy for the private client group. Novak will also serve as co-head of the alternative investments group alongside Chris Butler.

The capital markets group is led by Kent Nelson.

“The rapid convergence of public and private capital markets has presented a tremendous opportunity to apply our industry expertise to a broader array of companies and investors,” Jim Bunn, president of Capital Markets & Advisory at Raymond James, said. “Adding Anand [Subramanian] to our capital markets team further enhances our ability to serve as a comprehensive financing advisor to middle market companies, whatever their needs.”

Florida-headquartered Raymond James said it “remains committed to broadening these capabilities to further meet the needs of advisors serving their most sophisticated and wealthy clients.”

With more than 25 years in the industry, Subramanian is experienced in equity and debt financing, investment of growth and structured capital, product innovation and business development. He also has deep sector expertise in fintech, commerce enablement, consumer, mobility and vertical SaaS. Subramanian previously launched and built private capital businesses at Morgan Stanley, Qatalyst Partners and Macquarie Capital.

Novak was most recently a managing director in the firm’s private institutional clients group and served as head of distribution for private markets and alternatives. He has 30 years’ experience in financial services. Prior to joining Raymond James, Novak was responsible for business development and was a member of the investment committee at Ferry Farm Capital. Prior to this, Novak was head of RBC’s institutional middle market division, a joint venture between the US Capital Markets division and Wealth Management platforms.
