Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – AlphaCore, Raymond James, Carson

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in the North American wealth management sector.

AlphaCore
US-based AlphaCore Wealth Advisory has appointed Dr David Stubbs as its new chief investment strategist. The firm said the hire will bolster its expansion of investment research and wealth advisory services for high net worth and family office clients.

The move comes after AlphaCore – with offices in California, Texas and Colorado – acquired Callan Capital and enTrust Wealth Advisors earlier in 2025.

Dr Stubbs will work with Eric Gerster, AlphaCore’s chief investment officer.

With more than 20 years of experience in the investment sector, Dr Stubbs previously served in senior roles at Blackstone and JP Morgan. Earlier, he was an economist for the UK government, he has participated in many think tanks, and the United Nations. He holds a PhD in economics from The New School for Social Research, a master’s degree in international political economy from The London School of Economics, and a bachelor’s degree in economics and politics from the University of Birmingham. In addition, he holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT®) designations.

Raymond James
Raymond James recently has welcomed Katrina Consiglio and Kristen Mahan to its employee advisor channel.

Consiglio and Mahan are joint founders of Consiglio Mahan Wealth Management of Raymond James. They serve families and individuals, business owners and those in or nearing retirement. The advisors are joined by practice business manager Julia Wittmann and client service associate Caroline Versaci in Latham, New York.

Before this, the team worked at Wells Fargo where they ran more than $300 million in client assets.

Carson Group
Carson Group, has inked a partnership with Crescent Financial, a wealth management firm in Seneca, South Carolina, serving about $200 million in AuM.

The Crescent business is led by Jan Fredman (president) and Lori Kelley (managing partner).

Originally from Sweden, Fredman moved to the US to accept a college tennis scholarship prior to beginning his career in financial services in 1984. He founded Crescent Financial Advisors in 2010 and then teamed up in 2016 with Kelley.

Carson has more than $42 billion in AuM.
