What's New In Investments, Funds? - Aviva Investors

The latest in funds and investments around the world.

Aviva Investors
Aviva Investors, the global asset management arm of Aviva, has launched a multi-asset fund, called the The Aviva Investors Sustainable Income and Growth Fund.

The fund aims to provide 5 per cent income with long-term capital growth from a portfolio of 80 to 120 securities drawn from over 25,000 names in the MSCI All Country World Index and the Bloomberg Barclays Global Aggregate Bond Index, Aviva said.

The portfolio is managed by fund manager Francois de Bruin and colleagues in the investment team. They aim to make holdings more sustainable by steering them away from practices they consider harmful to the environment and hence reputations through engagement and proxy voting.

“Companies will be selected on the basis of sustainable business models and underlying revenue streams, with an emphasis on cash flows to deliver compounding interest over time. By focusing on assets likely to generate dividends and coupons during drawdown, rather than selling shares for income, the fund will help mitigate the risk of permanent loss of capital when markets are depressed,” the firm said.

De Bruin is supported by a core investment team of Mirza Baig, head of governance, Anton Kerkenezov, emerging market debt fund manager, and Cyril Martin, head of Aviva Insurance Solutions.
