Adams Street Partners, a private markets investment management firm with $34 billion of assets under management, has closed a venture capital fund with $246 million of committed capital.

The fund is called Adams Street Venture Innovation Fund II, and mainly concentrates on early-stage venture fund managers globally. The fund drew commitments from new and existing Adams Street investors in the US, Canada, Germany, the UK, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. Client types represented in this fundraise include institutional public and corporate pension plans, high net worth individuals, family offices, and endowments.

The firm traces its origins to 1979 and is led by Kelly Meldrum, head of primary investments and a member of the firm’s executive committee. The organization has offices across the US, as well as in London and Singapore.
