What's New In Investments, Funds? – Capital Group

The latest news about investment products, new structures and service offerings that might be of interest to the wealth management industry.

Capital Group
Capital Group, the global investment house, has launched its first suite of active exchange traded funds on the New York Stock Exchange. One of the ETFs is a fixed income core plus income strategy, and three are equity strategies.

In total, there are six ETFs being added to Capital Group's roster:

Capital Group Growth ETF (CGGR);
Capital Group Core Equity ETF (CGUS);
Capital Group Dividend Value ETF (CGDV);
Capital Group International Focus Equity ETF (CGXU);
Capital Group Global Growth Equity ETF (CGGO); and
Capital Group Core Plus Income ETF (CGCP).

An actively managed ETF is a form of exchange traded fund that has a manager or team making decisions on the underlying portfolio allocation, otherwise not adhering to a passive investment strategy. ETFs are mostly “passive” entities that track a market index.

"The active ETF market is still in its early days," Tim Armour, chairman and CEO of Capital Group, said. "At Capital, we introduce new offerings when we believe we can help investors achieve superior results over the long term. I believe active ETFs will be transformative for the industry and that we will be a leader in this market."
