What's New In Investments, Funds? – CAIS

CAIS
CAIS, the alternative
investment platform for independent financial advisors, has
launched its new execution capability for ticker-traded
alternative investment funds.
This feature enables advisors to handle execution of ticker-traded interval funds and subscription-based funds on the CAIS platform.
An interval fund is a closed-end mutual fund that allows investors to redeem their shares periodically, at specific intervals – hence the name – rather than daily like traditional open-end mutual funds.
A problem, CAIS said, is that execution and ongoing oversight of these products continues to pose unique demands for some advisors versus traditional exchange-traded funds and mutual funds. The workflow challenges of ticker-traded alternative investment funds can include issues such as managing liquidity and the redemption windows. CAIS said it cuts through this complexity so that ticker-traded interval funds can be facilitated through the CAIS platform alongside subscription-based alternative investment funds.
“Being able to access and transact across alts in one place, regardless of structure or strategy, is incredibly valuable in enabling us to scale our allocations across clients,” Alexis Miller, director of investment research, Bleakley Financial Group, said.
