Waller joins web-based conferencing provider

Move meant to bolster Fugent’s efforts to be fin industry's main
marketing-tool provider. Family Wealth Report's Jamie Waller has
taken additional responsibilities with Fugent, a Rye, N.Y.- and
Columbus, Ohio-based provider of online presentation and
collaboration products to financial-service companies. He will
stay on as CEO of this publication.
Fugent is an advertiser with Family Wealth Report.
Starting today Waller is Fugent's COO, a new position at the
five-year-old firm. He will manage what Fugent describes as
the “rapid and continued growth” of its core offerings:
Presenter, Meetings and MoQvo, a web-publishing tool now in
pre-launch.
Put simply, Fugent helps firms hold online meetings and make
slick presentations. MoQVo is meant to help firms manage and
present information, including multi-media newsfeeds and
periodicals.
“We are delighted to have been able to attract a person of
Jamie's caliber to lead our organization,” says Fugent's founder
and CEO John Detwiler.
As a senior partner of Security APL, Waller was an Internet
pioneer in the 1980s and early 1990s. APL's free stock-quote
tickers made its website one of the early public Internet's most
visited. APL was also the first firm to execute secure stock
trades over the World Wide Web. CheckFree acquired APL, an
administration-system provider to the separately managed account
industry, about 10 years ago.
Waller also helped guide Citigroup's first efforts to market
multi-manager separate accounts in the first years of this
decade.
“This is perfect timing all around,” says Waller. “MoQVo's
rollout gives Fugent a truly comprehensive marketing and
[customer-realtionship management] suite, putting everything from
[asset-management] wholesaling through end-client-facing
virtual-[family-office capabilities] at the forefront of the
Internet's emerging second generation.” –FWR
