United Capital Acquires Virginia Advisory Firm

United Capital Financial Advisers, the RIA, has entered west Virginia with the addition of HFI Wealth Management.

United Capital Financial Advisers, which describes itself as a financial life management firm, has acquired Virginia-based HFI Wealth Management, with offices in Shepherdstown and Winchester, VA.

The move is United Capital’s first foray into West Virginia, adding $332 million in assets and 380 client households.

HFI Wealth Management was founded in 2002 by chief executive and primary principal Rob Hoxton, who will become a managing director at United Capital along with his colleague Julia Connell and eight other staff members. 

Today, United Capital has around $15 billion in assets under management and 82 offices across the US.
