US Trust Makes Executive Philanthropy Hires

US Trust has announced three senior hires as it expands its personal and institutional philanthropic businesses.

Bernie Reidy has joined Bank of America's US Trust in the newly-created position of national philanthropic sales executive, while the firm announced two other senior hires.

The moves are part of a wider focus by US Trust on philanthropy and family office services, after Ann Limberg was recruited in March as head of philanthropic solutions and family office. The philanthropy and family office lines were previously overseen by US Trust's chief fiduciary executive, Chris Heilmann.

Reidy is based in New York and will report to Limberg. He joins from Commonfund, where he was head of endowments and foundation sales, and later became co-head of institutional sales.

At US Trust, he is tasked with pushing forward a national sales expansion as well as aligning the firm's relationship management, consulting, advisory specialist and fiduciary capabilities.

Meanwhile, Christopher Mottershead has joined the philanthropic solutions division in the new role of RFP (request for proposal) manager and senior editor, reporting to Reidy.

Mottershead will supervise the RFP writers and be responsible for the development and delivery of RFPs with both US Trust and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management advisors and sales specialists. He joins from JP Morgan Private Bank, where he was a senior investment writer for the endowments and foundations group.

Additionally, Annie Hildreth will take on the newly-created position of sales strategy and execution executive, also reporting to Reidy.

Hildreth will support institutional sales efforts across all channels, and will retain her current role as division philanthropic executive through year-end before transitioning to the new post in early 2016.

"As US Trust focuses on its personal and institutional philanthropic business, we are investing in resources and talents that will further position us as a leading provider of outsource CIO," Limberg said.

US Trust provides investment, trust, banking and lending services to high and ultra high net worth clients. It is part of Bank of America's global wealth and investment management unit.
