US Family Office Continues Succession Plans

The family office firm says its appointments are part of succession plans it has been working on.

Lowenhaupt Global Advisors, the US family office that recently bolstered its succession plan with a top-level appointment, has revealed that two of its senior figures have been named to C-suite roles.

Laura Hewgley and Tara Harris, two long-time associates in the firm, have been promoted. Hewgley, who has more than 17 years of experience, was named chief operating officer. Harris, who has more than 15 years of client services experience, was named chief family office executive.

The promotions follow the appointment of Chris Quinn as president of the firm – and they are all part of the business’s succession plans, it said in a statement.

“The promotions of Laura and Tara recognize their long-term commitment to our clients and to the firm and the trust and responsibility that employees and clients have in them,” Quinn said.

The LGA also announced that Christine Johnson, who has more than 20 years of experience, has joined the firm as family office executive. She will work with Hewgley and Harris supporting LGA’s clients.
Hewgley will have day-to-day operational responsibility for the firm, along with client service and general counsel responsibilities. Before joining the firm, she was an attorney at LGA’s affiliated tax and estate-planning law firm, Lowenhaupt & Chasnoff. Harris joined the firm in 2004 and is responsible for client relationships, service coordination, and project management. Prior to joining LGA, she managed investor relations and reporting for a Midwest seed-stage venture capital fund. Before that, she held positions with GE Capital and Morris Publishing.

Johnson is responsible for client relationships, service coordination and project management, as well as helping coordinate all client accounting related activities. Prior to LGA, she worked for a wealth management firm in St Louis, where she served as the family CFO to 25 clients. Before that, Johnson worked with Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, and BKD specializing in taxation for individuals, trusts and estates. She also worked as an accounting consultant to several area non-profit organizations and currently serves on the board for Peter and Paul Community Services.
