US, UK Lender Hires Chief Risk Officer

Avant has brought over a HSBC veteran to fill its latest vacancy.
US-and UK-based lending platform Avant has appointed Grant Miles, a HSBC veteran, as its chief risk officer.
Most recently, Miles spent two years as a special advisor to Avant on roles within risk management, underwriting, quantitative methods and modelling.
He has 33 years' industry experience, and has worked in HSBC’s US and London offices. In the US, Miles served as CRO and executive vice president for HSBC’s consumer and mortgage lending business.
"Grant brings tremendous experience to consumer underwriting through numerous economic cycles, and has unique expertise in evaluating near-prime consumer credit, which remains Avant's core focus," said Al Goldstein, chief executive of Avant.
He added: "Grant's insight into credit related strategies and the financial services industry will be invaluable to our executive team as we continue to grow Avant's financial products."
Avant has more than 500,000 clients and has distributed more than $3.6 billion of loans through its platform, the firm said in a statement.
