UK Business School Unit, Think Tank Join Forces To Tackle Ethics In Banking

Two UK organisations are developing a joint programme to examine issues such as shortcomings in banking ethics - a topic that reared its head in recent years following the global financial crisis.
A unit dedicated to developing ideas on how to comply with proliferating regulations – a major concern for wealth managers – and another think tank have teamed up to focus on projects such as dealing with rogue bankers and unethical behaviour.
The two bodies are the Centre for Compliance and Trust at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School and the CCP Research Foundation.
The initial joint programme will focus on banking standards and issues related to bank misconduct and ethical behaviour. The programme will be case-study based and of a participative nature, according to a statement from the organisations.
The three-year arrangement will CCT becoming an honorary member of the Foundation's Conduct Costs Project Association. Richard Hill, the executive director of CCT, also joins the advisory board of the CCP Research Foundation.
“Understanding how financial services and other industries
conduct themselves and how they can develop the highest standards
of behaviour is a critical issue,” Hill said.
