UK Asset Manager Expands Its Licence In Hong Kong

M&G Investments, the London-headquartered asset management firm, opened a new Hong Kong office after receiving a Type 1 license from the SFC.

M&G Investments, the London-headquartered international asset manager, has received a Type 1 licence from the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong.

The licence allows the company to expand its scope of marketing activities to professional investors in the country. As part of this move, M&G has established a Hong Kong legal entity, M&G Investments (Hong Kong).

The company has been managing money on behalf of individual and institutional investors from its headquarters in London, specialising in investment strategies across principal asset classes of equities, fixed income and real estate. With offices in Singapore and Hong Kong, M&G manages around $4 billion for clients in Asia.

The company records some $3.72 billion in assets under management as at 30 September 2013.
